    • The Hydrographer publishes Notices to Mariners on a monthly basis.

      These Notices contain important information affecting safety of navigation as well as current coastal navwarnings and NAVAREA VII messages in force.

      Mariners are requested to inform the Hydrographer immediately of the discovery of new dangers, or changes or defects in aids to navigation and of shortcomings in South African charts or publications.

      The positional information given in Notices refer to the spheroid of the paper chart concerned.

      Copies of notices to Mariners can be printed freely from this website and may not be sold.
